Walk With Us This Sunday - Gay Pride November 9th

Join us as we celebrate our diversity and pride alongside our UUCOD friends this Sunday, November 9th in Palm Springs. We will be walking in the annual Pride Parade together. The colorful parade steps off in the Uptown Design District at Tachevah and Palm Canyon Drive and travels south through downtown, ending at the entrance to the Pride Festival at Amado. We will join up with UUCOD at Tachevah and Palm Canyon Drive and travel south through downtown, ending at the entrance to the Pride Festival at Amado Road.
Starting Location:
Plan on arriving around 10:15 am. Carpooling is best. Though the parade officially starts at 10:00 AM, our contingent, # 159 and won’t step off until after 10:45, maybe even closer to 11 AM. The parade line up begins north of Tachevah on Palm Canyon Drive. It’s important to know that groups are staged in 3 rows along Palm Canyon. Be at # 159 by 10:15 AM The numbers are painted on the street. The route is a mile long and will end at East Amado Road. If you have a t-shirt please wear it. Please leave your fur babies at home.
Parking:
On the North corner of Indian Canyon and Tachevah, you can find parking under the Desert Regional Medical Plaza. Approximate Address: 1133 N. Indian Canyon Dr, Palm Springs, CA 92262 OR: 555 E. Tachevah Drive. It’s a professional building’s parking lot so it’s not used on weekends. It’s about 2 blocks east of Palm Canyon. If you are walking and want to park at the end of the parade route, go to www.pspride.org/parade for additional parking locations. If you are WALKING and decide you do not want to walk back to your car, talk with Rod Belshee from UUCOD. He has parked his car nearby and will ferry people north back to their cars.
A special joint DOS-UUCOD service will follow at 3 PM in the UUCOD sanctuary.
